
Forming in the fall of 2025, Catscratch Fever is an amalgamation of two musical worlds coming together. The duo sings and explores old songs crafted in new ways and arrangements. Their music includes melds Country, Honkey Tonk, Jazz and original compositions.Meet the ArtistsBased in Victoria, Aurielle Verville has toured extensively through BC and the east coast of Canada. She has studied and played various forms of roots music, be it old timey, country, blues, ragtime, or swing. You can hear her singing and strumming her Honky tonk heart out with Patsy Cline and Johnny Cash renditions. Or have her serenading you with Billie Holiday and Louis Armstrong. She might even throw some Beatles in for good measure. Occasionally she will put down her guitar to play some swinging 60’s songs on her ukulele.Aurielle’s original songs have a sound all of their own. They will have you tapping your feet to their catchy beats while swaying to her ethereal voice.As a solo artist, Aurielle is also a co-collaborator and performer with the newly formed Victoria Honkey Tonk through which she assists in creating inclusive musical space and dance lessons in Victoria.Arkady Futerman has lived in Victoria since 2015. He studied Guitar Performance at the University of Alaska and Music History at the University of Victoria. Originally trained in classical guitar and jazz performance, these influences inform his bass playing and singing.Arkady has performed on bass, guitar and uke-bass with various jazz bands in Canada and abroad, including gypsy jazz group Swing49 and the Chad Meyer Trio. His current musical projects include his music teaching business, Sunflower Music School, as well as performing as a bassist with Victoria based East European folk band Bucan Bucan.
